First of all I’d like to say that I’m very pleased with the way the iTunes LP release “Tha Throwback” is doing. I guess a curiosity about the format and the fact that it was created without Apple has led to increased downloading of this album and serves as an introduction to those who might have otherwise overlooked it when it was originally released last year. While we’re on the subject, the new Cartel album “Grown Folks Hip Hop” is the process of being completed as I type this. If I may say so myself, the album thus far is amazing and features a lot of new faces not previously seen on the past two albums while some of the more familiar faces aren’t present. This album will be released in both iTunes LP format and as a standard digital download.

Another project worth talking about is the joint EP by underground producer, Cartel and hip hop artist, Mallz. Their previous efforts spawned the two tracks below:

Last but not least is the project with hip hop artist TG. As I mentioned in a previous post that this was going to be an EP release between him and Cartel, but after the response we’ve been receiving due to three leaked tracks off his upcoming mixtape, this has been expanded to a full album and will feature other producers such as Dave Barz (of K.Sparks fame) and Drawzilla (who has very placements and is currently producing Tek (of Smif n Wesson) for Duck Down. You’ll be hearing more about this as time goes by as this is shaping up to be one of the best release from ANY New York artist in a long time. Not a claim to take lighty.
